Salona Vineyard, La Stella, Osoyoos. 290m elevation, situated right on Osoyoos lake. Sandy with heavy loam and clay, granite subsoil. Muscat was planted in 2011. Organically farmed. 100% Muscat Petits Grain (Muscat Blanc).
PROCESS:

Hand harvested and de-stemmed, wild and spontaneous ferment started in open top vessels. A light cap soaking daily, 9 days on skins and gently bladder pressed into neutral old French barrels. Post ferment on primary lees for 7 months. Zero additions. Bottled late April 2021. Made rather aerobically, heavy oxygen, stable and age worthy. Only one racking immediately prior to bottling, lees in the bottle.

TASTING NOTES:

Bright and expressive aromatics; tangerine flesh, fuzzy peach, bruised apricot, along with subtle candied citrus, spiced pineapple and spring flowers. Textured yet fresh with bright acid, fleshy and fruit driven, balanced with soft tannins that add structure and complexity.
